This journey of writing has been extremely exciting so far. I would've never imagined myself doing this. When I was young, I wrote stories and added my own illustrations (I am no artist though so they weren't very good). Several teachers throughout my school years said I should write because of my "vivid" imagination. Many times my mother would utter the words, "Kimi, get your head out of the clouds." I love my Mom, she is my biggest supporter and cheerleader. I understand where she was coming from because I was always in Kimiland playing with my imaginary friends. Well as a storyteller, I'm allowed to keep my head in the clouds and hang out with all sorts of characters. Who wouldn't enjoy that?
Moving forward, I've discovered some things I need to switch around. One of the changes I'm making is to adjust my pen name from Kimberly Anne Flores to Kimi Flores. Kimberly Anne has a little bit of a negative feeling to me since that's what I was called as a child when in trouble. Kimberly Anne Flores is also REALLY long and difficult to fit on book covers. Kimi has been a "feel good" name my entire life so from this point forward, my books will be under the name Kimi Flores.
As I write my stories, I'm finding that the "Exception Twist" actually happens in book 2 with Stefen and Leah. Bri and Josh are a complete and utter "Perfect Mess" in book 4 therefore I've decided to swap the names of those two books. Although I've only created mock book covers, I'll be changing the names on them within the next week or so.
I have a horrible phobia of committing to dates. I'm working on me though so I've decided to put myself on a schedule. This way I'm sure to complete Intertwined Hearts, run them through an editor (hoping they come out squeaky clean), then publish them in the near future. I can not wait for that day. I'll be working on the schedule next week as well.
I'm so excited about a new project within my project. My high school friend, published author, Tania Penn and I have started working on a little something unique. The details are top secret for now but I truly can't wait to see how it plays out in the end. I keep telling her what a "fun" idea it is because really, is there a better word than fun when you are enjoying what you're doing?
So there you have it. Decisions made, changes being implemented, schedule in the works and prayerfully books published soon.
Thanks for following my ramblings!
